Armed with a camera, RenzoMartens undertook a journey for years on end through the Congo. He examined Africa’s most lucrative manufacture of export: filmed poverty. As with gold or cacao, the locals barely get anything in return for this product. ThereforeMartens launches a campaign deep in the jungle of Congo to teach the African people ‘to profit’ from their poverty. Enjoy Poverty is a combination of journalism, satire and an obstinate, critical look.
