Johan van der Keuken is one of the most eminent of the present documentary film-makers. Van der Keuken shows reality from different angles and in the end asks the audience to find its own path and truth in the films. He explores reality using the camera in a very personal way ; mostly shot from the shoulder and frequently changing the point of view, he makes us aware of the subject and its surroundings. In his own words: "Film is more a way to put things into context than to create a story. An innovation of the eye."
